Decision 2082/QĐ-TTg dated 25 December 2017 designated Điện Hải a special national monument. The reception ceremony took place on 29 March 2018, alongside the launch of the first restoration phase.
The 2018 report describes decisions and plans of its time. Planned construction dates do not establish present completion or visitor access.
